I am the Founder and Director of The Esther Academy. I also co-founded, Direct and Design for Bleau and lastly created this platform #QUEENIN.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

Overcoming anxiety and the feeling of being overwhelmed. Sometimes it can all become A LOT and I second guess my ability on if I can actually even do everything.

What would you tell your younger self?

Stop worrying so much, you’re going to do better than you expect!

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

I’ve learned to love myself so that on a normal day I can stop and just say hey girl, you da bomb! I also know that my destiny has been designed by my Lord and saviour, so it is my duty to walk with the crown that was placed on my head.

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

Be consistent! It’s so crucial to keep going even when it feels like what’s the point. Don’t dip in and out of your goals, you’ll be surprised who’s watching.

A contemporary Fashion Stylist and Creative Director born and raised in Hackney, East London.

Ashleigh Stunna merges her knowledge of the fashion industry with a vibrant and fresh outlook on contemporary London culture. Immersed in her Jamaican roots and upbringing. Her work uniquely intertwines culture with old school 90s and editorial chic, best of both worlds, working across all aspects of Styling and Creative Direction.

In 2007, she began to study all Fashion trends and looked closely into patterns and it became prominent that styling was her passion. She often uses her surroundings, people, celebrities and culture to create captivating looks and now she styles a range of clients.

Stunna says, “Don’t be shy, be bold, take risks and believe in your slay”

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

My biggest challenge thus far was starting a clothing line business back in 2015 and realising It wasn’t actually what I wanted to do and I had wasted time and money. I had to leave the business and start all over again in 2018, taking my passion for styling and direction ever so serious to set apart from the rest. The challenge was re-branding and staying true to my actual vision, which I am now happy with in 2019.

What would you tell your younger self?

I would tell my younger self “don’t be scared of the dreams in your head because you can make them reality” I would also say “don’t live for friends but control your own destiny and have faith in everything you touch and do” .

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

I remain #QUEENIN by praying daily on my dreams and aspirations and also by creating a great network of creatives that I can rely on and create more magic with every time.

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

Advice I will give to someone chasing their goals is always keep the quality and vision of your work very high, don’t compromise your ideas. I would also say don’t always work hard but work smart to maximise your possibilities of success and growth.

Quality over quantity!!!

By never loosing sight of my Goal and remembering my ‘why’.

LINA NAIMA IS #QUEENIN

Give us a brief on what you do?

I am an entrepreneur who's passion lies in business operations. I co-own one of the UK's leading modelling agencies called 'face4music'. A start up retail shop that specialise in cultural gifts and home ware, called Planet Culture Bay. This is particularly close to my heart as I've always wanted to build bridges between cultures, having been bought up around so many. Most recently, however, I have been working on opening my very own film studio that offer more than just a studio!

Awarded the entrepreneur of excellence award in 2015, I have been a business woman for the past 13 years and I fearlessly launch concepts that make business sense to me and my community. My experience is mainly in media & entertainment and retail and I'm best known for fusing the two in order to monetise from my businesses.

I was published on the be mogul 2016 guide of the most influential and inspirational black entrepreneurs in Britain today, and have worked tirelessly ever since to ensure my work is helpful and beneficial to my community.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

Biggest challenge to date is employing people AND working with people who do not understand your vision and care as much as you do. I never do anything for the money, I always do things that make sense or feel right so when you have a team or someone who isn't emotionally invested like you are, it can cause major challenges. It's all or nothing and you have to ride with people who feel the same.

What would you tell your younger self?

LOL - it's not that serious! nothing but the health of your loved ones and yourself actually matters. When you're healthy you can do anything and help others. When you're not - it's all an epic fail anyway!  Stay healthy, combat through the hard days and stay not caring what others think! tunnel vision is everything!

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

I have bad days. that's no secret, I'm human. I have days where I couldn't achieve anything even if I wanted to. Mental health is life too! If you do not do things for yourself, things that make you feel good, you won't ever get to that big goal, to that bigger picture, because everyday counts. Even those days that didn't add value to your business/s. Learn to be still when it counts. Stay away from social media when you feel 'some type of way'. For both your following and your sanity.

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

You are going to love your journey and hate it at the same time. You are going to have the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows and it will all be so worth it! When you're broke, it's worth it and when you are rich-er, it's worth it! You will only ever have to answer to yourself and those who reply on you to keep getting better. You will create jobs and change people's lives just by presenting your goal - whatever that is - and that is worth it!

Remember that God walks with you always so never forget to be grateful when you're good and happy. AND BE GRATEFUL when you're bad and sad, for everything you recognise you still have that others don't, and it will turn around sooner rather than later.... AND NEVER STOP BEING YOU!!

Give us a brief on what you do?

I am one of the Founders of Not Just Another Store, a concept store located in Shoreditch East London, retailing new emerging designers as well as selling art, coffee and curating events.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

What would you tell your younger self?

Life is good. Not always, but mostly. And when it is not so good, be assured it will get better as long as you work hard and you have faith.

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

By being authentic and true to myself and my beliefs - no one can take that away from me.

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

Be consistent, work hard, don't give up. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Remember that you have the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and to change the world.

JAMELIA DONALDSON IS #QUEENIN

Give us a brief on what you do?

I am the founder and CEO of @TreasureTress — Europe’s largest monthly product discovery subscription service for girls and women with kinky-curly hair and also the co-creator of The Teen Experience, a monthly workshop series which offers black and mixed race teens personal development skills and more.

Since launching in 2015, with a huge online community, and an active and thriving offline presence, Treasure Tress has proven that natural hair and black sisterhood can truly go hand in hand.

A key highlight to date being the Treasure Tress pop up shop in Peckham which saw over 1,000 women flood the high street for affordable natural hair care products, talks, giveaways, music and more!

I have also been featured in Forbes, Buzzfeed, Gal-Dem, Good Housekeeping and Pride Magazine just to name a few.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

My greatest challenge has been shifting my mindset and thoughts. I do lots of work internally and surround myself with those who demand me to be a better thinker, a better person and a better leader.

This takes lots of hard work, and intentional behaviour and thinking. Moving from ’this is so hard’ to ’this is so exciting, I can’t wait to figure out how to overcome this challenge and help more people".

What would you tell your younger self?

Your passion really does lead you to your purpose so pay attention to the signs, never take an experience for granted, travel and learn as much as possible as early as possible. Things always come together beautifully in the end.

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

Surrounding myself with Queens!!!!! In my office, in my private life EVERYWHERE!

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

Just do it. Don't doubt yourself but do your due diligence. You may be able to achieve the same goal with less risk, or with a stronger team if you’re willing to put ego and personal interest aside and really focus on what you’re trying to achieve.

MONIKAH LEE IS #QUEENIN

Monikah Lee has built a career as a radio personality, television and event host.  Not to mention the various motivational events, panel discussions and talks she gets asked to host and mediate. Monikah Lee has crafted up a resumé in entertainment after hosting an online debate show BK Chat London in 2016, her infectious energy and diplomatic views saw her win over the audience and build a fan base. Since then Monikah Lee has commissioned her own shows on Link Up Tv YouTube channel with over 660,000 subscribers and views ranging anywhere from 50,000 to 400,000 upwards.

After a brief stint on the breakfast show Radar Radio Monikah Lee has done a variety of interviews with the likes of Rapman, Flohio, Kranium, , Desiigner, Major Lazor and many more.  She has curated her own Talk Show ‘Talks With Monikah Lee’ which is set to be the ‘ Question Time for the generation’ in which she provides a platform for the panellists and attendees to discuss social, political and engaging issues that are affecting our society.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

My biggest challenge so far has been remaining consistent and finding the lane I belong in and staying in it. It is so easy to be demotivated especially when you feel as if the whole world is resisting against you reaching your full potential. It's also very easy to sway into other peoples career paths because they may make it look easy or as if they are reaping their success and benefits much faster than yourself so sometimes I see myself trying to change my authentic self but if its not for you it'll never prosper. So I've learned the hard way to be patient, focused and not to rush the process.

What would you tell your younger self?

Do no underestimate the power of your tongue; speak amazing and positive words into your life. Do not be scared to speak your truth, the harsh reality of life is that not everyone is going to like or agree with your position or stance in life. Do not allow this to discourage you, DO NOT change yourself in order to receive love or acceptance from temporary situations.

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

- Mind my business

- Surround myself with positive and likeminded people that want to see me elevate and grow

- Continue to educate myself

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

Trust in the process. Be consistent. Have faith. Set short term goals.

EMILY WILLIAMS IS #QUEENIN

Give us a brief on what you do?

I uplift and empower women by teaching them how to lift weights.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

Biggest challenge has been working on myself. Realising I had some internal issues with my confidence and tackling that with weight training. It's a challenge I work to overcome basically everyday.

What would you tell your younger self?

To ask more questions!!! To never be afraid to ask for help!! This is something that definitely held me back growing up.

And to be confident in my abilities, to believe what I do is not only good enough but great!

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

Discipline! Even on days where I don't feel motivated I keep going. And I embrace balance, some days are good, some not as good. Understand that keeps your mind in a real positive place.

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

If you say your going to do something, DO IT! The biggest commitment you can make is to yourself!! Be a person of your word and do it for you.

PATRICE CAMILLE IS #QUEENIN

Give us a brief on what you do?

I am the founder and CEO of beauty tech and digital marketing agency Pink Ship Ltd.

What has been your biggest challenge thus far?

The biggest challenge has probably been money management as a CEO, although we have accountants, we don't have a CFO so it has been my responsibility to decide how the agency spends it's money. This isn't my background or area of expertise so it has definitely been difficult to make the right choices. I have made some mistakes with this for sure, but it's a journey and I'm learning a lot.

What would you tell your younger self?

I would tell my younger self, that everything will work out fine! There is nothing to stress about, just enjoy life, soak in the experiences and maintain a positive attitude through the hard times. There are blessings ahead that you won't even believe so just keep being great! I'd also tell myself that she's beautiful! Enjoy and love your body now, it's perfect and trust me, it will change when you have your first baby so just enjoy it now.

How do you remain #QUEENIN?

I would have to say, I've defined that term for myself to mean someone who is grown and responsible. I work hard, take care of my family, do what has to be done and I don't live to impress others. I remind myself constantly that a Queen is a woman who is aware of her worth and value and uses her authority to affect positive change. It is never about how others think or feel toward me.

What advice would you give to someone chasing their goals?

Don't be discouraged when things don't appear to be going your way, keep going, nothing rewarding comes easy. Success takes time but it is always worth it when you get there, so continue believing in yourself and don't give up. The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit!
